
The Voice Crowns a new Winner for Season 6
[xyz-ihs snippet=”thevoicewinnerseason6″]Josh Kaufman was crowned the winner of The Voice on season 6 Tuesday night, claiming the show’s title on the strength of electrifying performances of rough hewn modern soul plus one well earned second chance courtesy of his coach Usher.
Kaufman is a Florida native but spent some of his teenage years in Blacksburg, Virginia. As a four year old Kaufman was playing the piano in church. At 16 he appeared on Star Search and in 2011, Kaufman auditioned for the first season of Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor” He also competed on Star Search when he was just 16, winning on two episodes but losing on his third.
Kaufman is a member of the band The New Etiquette (formerly known as Josh Kaufman and the Frequency), an Indianapolis based rock and soul band. The band was formed in 2010 with original band members Josh Kaufman, Ryan Koch, and Nate Gray. The band released a six track self-titled EP in spring 2012 drawing on the musical talents of several local musicians.
