Some of the most hazardous waste are generated by you and I. Computers, laptops, TVs/CRTs, Mobile phones and batteries, quickly disappear when left at the curbside or at recycling centers because of the amounts of reusable plastics, metals and even precious metals like gold and silver that are contained inside.
Most don’t think about the harmful substances such as lead, mercury and cadmium which can pose health and environmental threats if these products are improperly processed during recycling, or when carelessly dumped. Most people today know you cant just dump oil in the trash but what about your old computers, TVs and other electronics?
Follow Jamey Tucker with “WHAT THE TECH” as he describes some of the processes of how to keep your equipment living longer, out of the land-field and where to recycle when the time comes.
